The Partial Derivative Method for Dynamic Stiffness and Damping Coefficients of Supercritical CO2 Foil Bearings

Supercritical CO2 foil bearings are promising bearing technology for supercritical high-speed turbomachinery. The partial derivative method including complete variable perturbation of the compressible turbulent lubrication Reynolds equation is effective to predict frequency dependent dynamic stiffness and damping coefficients bearings. In this research, structural model was introduced into then were calculated. results parametric analysis show that loss factor has little influence on trend changing with dimensionless support but mainly affects value as well coefficients. Due turbulence effect, number not able directly determine characteristics bearings, which different from air Compared number, average change more obvious.
